Working together as a team for over 15 years, the husband and wife have combined their two art forms to create Ataraxia Designs. The husband attended San Diego State University in San Diego, CA majoring in Philosophy, History and Literature. The wife attended Goucher College in Towson, MD majoring in Studio Arts and Secondary Education. Their artwork, which has been derived from life experiences, combines two art forms, the husband's poetry and wife's illustrations. Part of their goal is to create artwork that is simple, elegant, and something many can identify with throughout the different stages of life. They hand draw their artwork and hand carve it onto clay combining it with their own poetry. Some of their artwork, they finish with found wood and other tiles they finish in a solid oak craftsman style frame made in a mortise and tenon style using no nails or screws. Each piece is original, handmade by them.
