Fine Craft and Art Shows at Chautauqua July 11–13 & August 8 –10, 2025
As a broom maker, I honor traditional craft and the natural beauty of the materials I work with. Sourcing driftwood from the shores of Lake Erie, just 20 miles from Chautauqua, I create each broom with intention and purpose. Husk Brooms are functional, one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate the resilience and beauty of the natural world. I strive to work with the wood in its raw state, respecting the curves, knots, and grains that make each piece distinct. My products vary in sizes and abilities, but all center around function and design. Each broom and brush are small works of art that connect people to the authenticity of nature. Through my craft, I invite others to pause and appreciate objects created by hand. Witness the details and delight knowing the stitches were stitched by hand, or a handle was carved on a traditional shavehorse. I seek to connect the traditional craft of broom making with a modern perspective that bridges past and present.
