Fine Craft Shows at Chautauqua July 12–14 & August 9–11, 2024
Trained as a costume / set designer and later as a sculptor, I design from a wide foundation of exposure to style and influence. I love art history, pop imagery from the 60's and myriad other genres. The common denominator is that all of my work is textile-based. In 2019, I decided to start a small business creating home goods. It is more fun than I could have imagined. I work in wool felt using an appliqué process, which produces a graphic quality in each piece. Humor is a part of my design sensibility and emerges in a variety of ways, from placemats depicting plates of food to secret words sewn into the surfaces of some of the imagery. I love the idea of working on multiple levels that are revealed over time.
