Fine Craft and Art Shows at Chautauqua July 11–13 & August 8 –10, 2025
Each piece of my one-of-a-kind beaded jewelry is meticulously made by hand with needle and thread, using the techniques of weaving and/or embroidery. I use modern, vintage, and antique materials including glass beads, gemstones, pearls, and crystals, with quality fittings mostly of sterling or gold fill and linings of leather or Ultrasuede® fabric. Each design is original, although many are inspired by the motifs, styles, and color palettes of specific historical periods – often Victorian, Renaissance, Classical, or Art Nouveau. My work is expressive art and not a commercial product, so I spend an "unreasonable" number of hours perfecting my collars, necklaces, bracelets, and occasional earrings. Although I am a relative newcomer to craft fairs, I have won awards at the Art on the Square show in Williamsburg, VA, and the Kenan Center in Lockport, NY. I was a winner of Bead & Button magazine's June 2017 Design Challenge and have also been the subject of an interview in Facet magazine online.
