I’ve been designing and building jewelry at my basement workbenches for many many years. I think of myself as more of a craftsman than artist, because I often find the process of designing a piece of jewelry to be a challenge, while actual fabrication occurs more naturally. My jewelry is constructed of Sterling Silver, using both traditional and contemporary techniques such as hammer-forging, reticulation, and/or a rolling mill to create a range of textured surfaces on each piece. My designs are typically organic and asymmetrical in style, often incorporating semi-precious gems or beach stones from the Maine shoreline. Complete hand-fabrication gives me great satisfaction because each piece is a unique result of my own ideas, planning, skill and effort.
