Fine Craft and Art Shows at Chautauqua July 10 –12 & August 7– 9, 2026
My original acrylic paintings are on birch wood. My process begins by purchasing lumber which I cut, glue and nail pieces to make my own wooden panels. Once they are built, numerous layers of primer are applied with hand-sanding in between to give a beautiful smooth surface to accept my paint. My body of work is heavily influenced by mid-century modern beach and coastal esthetic. I research vintage swimwear and colors of the 1950s, 60s, 70s era for design inspiration. I prefer to work in large scale, usually my paintings are 48" x 48" or larger. I pride myself by starting from nothing and create my entire artwork all on my own.
