Fine Craft and Art Shows at Chautauqua July 11–13 & August 8 –10, 2025
I am a solo artist who makes my jewelry in my New York City studio with no help from assistants. My pieces are handmade with genuine gemstones, pearls, and precious metals. Most of my work is initially hand-sculpted in modeling wax from which precious metal castings are made. Other pieces are entirely hand-fabricated from scratch. All the elements are soldered together after they've been cleaned. The finish in my gold jewelry entails a process of sandblasting, polishing, heat treating, and brushing. Silver pieces are oxidized and polished. The stones are mostly bezel-set to frame them in a bold border for presence and durability. The designs in my work evoke the past with an eye toward the present. I am inspired by classical European design motifs that adorn the landmark buildings of my city. I aim to refer to the romance of the past with a contemporary feel to appeal to the art patrons of today.
