In a former life I was a theatrical costume designer and patternmaker. Today, I create artistically styled hand-dyed accessories which blend contemporary design with vintage and classical details. I have been an avid knitter since my theatre days, and recently added hand-dyed yarn, buttons and knitting accessories to my collection. In costume design color and texture help tell the character’s story, or visualize a mood on stage. Now I hand-dye my designs and yarn, using techniques such as shibori, ombre, vat and patch-dyeing. Oscar de la Renta said, “I just want to make beautiful clothes.” So do I. But most of all, I want my customers to feel beautiful in whatever they wear.
