Fine Craft and Art Shows at Chautauqua July 10 –12 & August 7– 9, 2026
Fabric and color have shaped my life from the beginning. Raised in a household where making was constant, I quickly understood cloth as both material and language. After earning my BFA in Textile Design from Moore College of Art and my MFA from Tyler School of Art, I founded my Glenmoore, Pennsylvania studio in 1978, where I continue to explore the dialogue between silk, dye,and form. I work primarily with hand-dyed silks for wearable accessories and garments, using Procion and Acid dyes through shibori, ombré, and pleating techniques. Each piece may undergo multiple dye processes, transforming cloth into layered landscapes of color and texture. I call myself a “color mechanic,” balancing chemistry with intuition, control with improvisation. My work blurs the line between art and fashion paintings in motion that engage the wearer as collaborator. Through continuous experimentation, I seek to create textiles that celebrate both the discipline of craft and the fluidity of color
