Fine silks and blends are hand-dyed for accessories and clothing. Procion and acid dyes are applied in colorways. Reduction dyeing is added to the dye process using shibori techniques for color effects or textures. My process starts with bolts of silk fabric. I cut each style and each piece from these bolts. Applying dye or extracting dye one to three times creates the color or patterns. Texture is sometimes in the weave structures or I might apply it after the dyeing process. The Fortuny-like pleats are one example. The color palette is also an important piece. Colorway works use color theory to enhance the harmony for broad customer appeal.
