Fine Craft Shows at Chautauqua July 11–13 & August 8 –10, 2025
As a designer with a BFA in graphic design, I combine my love for proportion, scale and balance into my clay work. I've been designing children's books for over 25 years and my clay work is inspired by my design work, incorporating a whimsical-sophistication with lots of color, texture and pattern. I work in brown speckled stoneware clay, fired at cone 6 in an electric kiln. Most pieces are a combination of colorful underglaze and white gloss glaze. Some of my pieces are thrown on the wheel, and others I hand build to incorporate texture. I started as an artist at the Clay Art Center in Port Chester, NY. Currently, I am an artist at the Peekskill Clay Studio. My work has been exhibited in juried shows in 2022, and 2023. I will be represented at NCECA 2024 as an invited artist by Clay Art Center in their gallery booth. I have work for sale at: Clay Art Center in Port Chester, Garrison Art Center, and the Princeton University Art Museum shop.
