With a background in glass, I use a propane-oxygen torch to melt rods and strips of glass onto a mandrel and then design them into jewelry. Primarily made from soda lime glass with accents of high-silver & dichroic glass, creates a metallic or sparkly iridescence. Glass lends endless opportunities to mimic luxurious natural textures like fur, precious stones, or fine grain wood which I incorporate into my work. Living near the ocean most of my life gives my pieces a marine feel, and has influenced my approach to designing wearable art that translates a lifelong fascination with natural history & a spirit for adventure.
