My creative practice is furniture making with a focus on solid wood seating. I believe a chair is the most intimate piece of furniture. Its proportions echo the human body, offering support, comfort, and welcome. I am most interested in functional wood furniture. I value thoughtful design, comfort, durable construction, and working in harmony with the inherent properties of wood. These principles guide my practice and shape every decision I make at the bench. Overall I view a chair as a kind of sculpture that you can sit in. I pursue flowing lines, visual tension, and sculpted details. By blending traditional handwork with modern engineering, I aim to honor the history of chairmaking while pushing it forward, creating chairs that are not only functional seating, but objects of connection.
