As a metalsmith, my medium plays a critical part in the creative process. Working directly in metal, predominately sterling silver, as opposed to casting from wax provides unique challenges and benefits that help to shape the finished piece. I continuously seek to manipulate metal with torch and hammer to bring forth forms and textures that convey a sense of both organic and inorganic.
