I draw with a sewing machine and paint with a needle and colored threads. I start with plain fabric and my own handmade patterns, and design, cut, sew, texture, and quilt silk garments, and enhance them with hand embroidery and freehand machine stitching. The stitched designs evoke the natural world; waves of light and sound and water, leaves and vines and blooms, trails and tracks of sea and land creatures, the planets and stars and moon above. My hope is to present works of art that become incorporated into the daily life of the wearer.
