Fine Craft and Art Shows at Chautauqua July 10 –12 & August 7– 9, 2026
The name Open Studio Ceramics is meant to evoke a feeling of community and connection. Open heart, open mind, open studio. I am primarily interested in surface and process. I prefer simple shapes which allow for the nuances of glaze and texture to speak for themselves. Much of my work serves as a test tile for glazes that I apply intuitively. There is a freedom from imperfection in my work as I enjoy leaving hints of how pieces are made, giving the viewer a chance to connect with the object and the maker. I want to hold a something made by hand and know it is one of a kind.
