Fiber Art by Erin creates needle felted three dimensional wool sculptures of plants and animals. Needle felting is a process in which wool is stabbed by hand with specialized needles until it packs tightly, tangling with itself and allowing for the sculpting of solid shapes. Differently colored wools are applied by the same process to complete the pieces with facial and surface details. Erin gleans inspiration for her work from her life-long interest in the natural world as well as a love of fiber arts and techniques. Wool is the natural material choice for Erin's work due to the softness and character it lends to her pieces.
