My art is grounded and centered by my understanding and appreciation of the natural world. My choice of inspiration, whether realistic or abstract, is never very far removed from the time I spend as a gardener, environmentalist, and outdoorswoman. Using clay, I daily explore what I want to share about my view of what is important in the natural world. I continue to share my artistic expression with others. I like to expand and unfold my artistic perspective and open up opportunities – ideas flow through me all of the time. I feel both excited and very glad that I have been able to benefit from opportunities that allow me to explore and experiment through my work. I choose to work with clay because it is endlessly expressive and exploratory. I like making functional work, but I also like to create one-of-a-kind pieces. Glazing involves chemistry, which I also enjoy.
